Ice Crystal

'Ice Crystal' is a unique piece of wall art and is handmade using the technique of macrame with soft twisted cotton cords in a palette of blue and moonlight colours.  The piece is suspended from a fluorescent acrylic rod dowel which has a spiral pattern running the length and which lights up when a light is directed towards it.  This pattern echoes the lace-like effect of knotting of the moonlight cords and enhances the silver-flecked light blue cords in the central section.  The piece features a turquoise and white quartz crystal which reflects light like ice.  Framed with a luxurious fringe of dark blue tassels, the wall hanging is finished with an apron of decorative knotting and heavy tassels. 'Ice Crystal' is inspired by the colours of the landscape during late afternoon walks in winter when the earth is crusted with ice.
