Langdale Pikes

Study of the view over the snow-smattered fields towards Pavey Ark in the Great Langdale valley, The Lake District, following an exhilarating scramble up Jack's Rake on a beautiful and cold winter's day and followed by a couple of celebratory real ales in the warmth of both the Old Dungeon Ghyll and the New Dungeon Ghyll hotels. The light reflecting properties of the metallic and gloss or matt paints and the shadows created by the individually rolled clay elements replicate the sense of movement of shadow and light on the landscape.
